Independent Consultant Tobacco Control

As an international tobacco control expert, I am working in tobacco prevention and cessation  since 1991 on national and international level. My expertise lies in policy development, project management and coordination, negotiation and consensus building, network development and organisation of lobbying/advocacy campaigns. During 2011 and 2012, I will be performing project work from Baku in Azerbaidjan, where I am temporarily based.

During the last years, I have been specifically involved in projects relating to  involvement of health professionals and smoking prevention and cessation of women and girls with emphasis on socially disadvantaged groups. My specific focus is the effective  implementation of the Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC) .

In the frame of my engagement in tobacco control, I was awarded the World No Tobacco Day Award 2011  by WHO. I am a member of GlobaLink (Network of the international tobacco control community), the Framework Convention Alliance (FCA), International network of women against tobacco ( INWAT). Since 2006, I am chairwoman of the German Association of Women against Tobacco (FACT - Frauen aktiv contra Tabak e.V.)

Working languages are English, French and German. For detailed information on current project work, please go to PROJECTS.

In recognition of outstanding contribution to tobacco control, I have received the World NoTobacco Day Award 2010
